Thomas Wiedmer covers topics related to finance in the Sounding Board.

Thomas Wiedmer holds a doctorate in economics and is an honorary professor at the University of Bern. He has worked as a researcher at the University of Bern and the University of California in Berkeley on subjects such as economic growth theories, environmental and resource economics, and finance and macroeconomics. For many years he acted as deputy member of the governing board of the Swiss National Bank. He was also a longstanding member of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS). Today he works as a lecturer and board member in the finance sector.

His role in the Sounding Board

Thomas Wiedmer will cover financial matters. Several research projects of NRP 73 have a direct or indirect link to the finance sector. Thanks to his knowledge in environmental and resource economics as well as his many years of experience in the finance sector, he will be able to offer the Steering Committee and the researchers qualified support and advice.
