SDSN Switzerland & NRP 73 Online Workshop Series

16.09.2020

Over 280 participants from research, business, NGOs and the public sector discussed during the workshops entitled “Transitioning towards a sustainable economy”.

Transformational change is required to reach the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Between June 16 and July 9, SDSN Switzerland and NRP 73 organised a series of online workshops on sustainable construction and housing; digital innovation for sustainable agriculture; spill-over effects of sustainable behaviour; nudging and voluntary agreements in the private sector; sustainable food systems; and environmental monitoring.

The objectives of the various online events were to launch and discuss the state of research of NRP 73 findings at the midway point with a variety of stakeholders and to elaborate calls to action facilitating the achievement of a sustainable and fair economy in Switzerland.

In total 38 calls-to-action were formulated in total, 18 of which were prioritised and will have an effect on the shaping of the programme synthesis of NRP 73.

In the same time period, a CE2 Lab on ‘closing the loop’ with the project ‘Laboratory for circular economy’ and a discussion forum on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA Forum) in NRP 73 was organized.
