What is important in the design of trade agreements if sustainability goals are to be integrated?

Elisabeth Bürgi Bonanomi from the University of Bern is researching sustainability issues in global trade as part of NRP 73. In particular, she wants to identify ways of distinguishing between sustainably and unsustainably produced food in a context-sensitive manner in order to apply trade incentives along these criteria.

In an interview with 'Lebensmittel-Industrie' she reveals how sustainability objectives can be integrated into trade agreements.
